I love dogs and hunting, and I love training them for the work they were bred to do. Not only do I train Labs, but also Goldens, Chesapeakes, Poodles, Flat Coats, Tollers, and other retrieving breeds for upland and waterfowl hunting.
Obedience training must have been completed and is essential in gun dog training for their safety and yours. Dogs as young as 6 months are introduced to live birds, exposed to upland birds and waterfowl birds, and slowly accustomed to firing the gun.
Upland training consists of learning a quartering pattern in the field, using their nose to find and flush birds, holding and retrieving birds, and sit to flush.
I offer full-time training where I will kennel your dog and work with the dog daily to achieve the goal that you want from a competition dog to a gun dog or basic obedience. Training is done in 30-day increments and any additional sessions are based on your expectation and field performance. We ask that you bring your dogs food, and their shot record. You are welcome to come and visit whenever you want, however we ask that you wait until they are here for at least 2 weeks in order to see the progress. Owners are welcome to join us to observe and learn how to be a team with your dog.
During January, February, and March – the cold and snowy months in the North – winter training is offered in south Georgia. This is a great opportunity to get your young puppy or competition dog in the water during the cold, snowy months.
Going on vacation? Let us take care of your dog while you're away and give them some extra training. Our board and train program provides your dog with a comfortable stay and focused training sessions.
